The Sour Taste of Sleep
The story of The Sour Taste of Sleep came to me after reading a book called After Death Albert Camus. In the book there was a scene where the protagonist kills a character for money. However, the man who paid him was the man to be killed. The result of which forced the protagonist to question his morals and live with the decision he ultimately made. I believe we all go through decisions in our lives that we think are correct. However, years later we will think back on those moments and question our morals and logic behind them. They usually are trivial for most but in Sour Taste, it is a big deal. We follow the character of Michael and the decision he makes. What causes him to decide this over the other. I think everyone goes through moments like these that force our minds to choose between a rock and a hard place. I want the audience to reflect on their own decisions they made in the past. To acknowledge them and try to understand what really made them do it. People will justify anything to themselves and that is crucial for preserving sanity. However, I hope this story about Michael brings people closer to understanding why they make their decisions and learn from them as well.
